Where do you place your daughtercard?

I'm using the zeal engineering daughtercard with my MS2 V3. The writeup says to put it in the lid. Yeah, right. There's no space to do that! Pics would be great. I was thinking that I'd make a second box JUST for the daughtercard. Anyone got a better idea?

There is plenty of space for the board in the lid. I designed it to fit. I will post a pic/vid tomorrow of it working that way just fine.

Ooh, a picture would be nice. I'm just worried it'll short out against the metal lid. That, and the map sensor is pretty large, so it takes up alot of space under the card. The card has to slide into the top slot on the bottom half just to make it fit. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to get a vacuum hose on it.

Maybe you should take a pic too, the zeal board does not have a MAP sensor.

lol, I meant on the main card The map sensor takes so much room underneath that it has to be placed UP so high that there's little space above it to place the zeal daughtercard. Give me a minute to take a pic.

Here, you can see that in its lowest position, there's no way to get a vacuum hose on there.

And here, if it's in the next spot up, it'll hit all kinds of stuff.

I just realized that you're supposed to slide it in like the MS card, but that's when I realized it's too wide! (huge, embarassing revelation) Can I sand the sides of the circuitboard down some so it'll fit?

Did you get a european spec case or something? You can sand it but with DIYautotune's case you should not need to. I will take a pic of mine later.

Nope, got it straight. from DIYautotune. The MS card fits just fine, but the daughtercard is just about a mm or 2 too wide. I think I got it now. I wanted to make sure I could trim the card down a little.

the case & board I got recently from DIYautotune for my other project needed to be sanded too, not by a whole lot, but I just took a nice long file and did it so it would be smooth & even. Just make sure you test-fit it fairly often in the sanding process so you find out where needs some more sanding, and to keep from overdoing it.

Well that was easier than I thought.

Initially, I thought you were supposed to drill some holes and mount it with the nylon screws or something. I thought for sure that if it was supposed to slide into the slot that they'd have made it fit as well as the motherboard I was literally about to go out and buy a separate box for it, I guess a daughtercase? Anyways, all is well now, and I should be firing her up here pretty soon!

There are manufacturing tolerances on all the boards. I have never had a zeal board not fit but have with mainboards.
