I have been wanting to put launch control/flatshift control and rev limiter on my rx7 for a while and found a product called the watbox, I had a look at its inputs and outputs and decided that I could adapt a megasquirt I had lying around to do the same functions, so I went ahead and did it and spent about $2 in extra parts to get it working, most of the bits I had lying around, It is a carburated engine with an electronic distributor, and I have put two relays in series with the positive connection to the coils and using 2 outputs on the ms to cut the power to the coils, one is for when the clutch is engaged the other for overall rpm limiter, I have also added a shift light driven by the ms as well, I tested it today at 3500rpm and it works well, although I haven't wired up a clutch switch yet but all that does is earth the relay so its got power to the coils all the time and when the clutch is engaged it disconnects the earth to the relay letting ms take care of it so it will work fine, here's a video of it in action
