Urgent Tune Help needed! MS1-extra

Hello all

Today I got my project running :O

Specs for convenience of anyone helping me

Fresh 12A Extend Port with 9.4:1 Rotors
TII intake manifold with 2x550cc injectors and 2x870cc injectors
Detoothed TII cas
MSNS-extra 029y4
Short Primaries exhaust

Here is my current tune, not running too well.

Since running that I adjusted some settings relating to staging which I am wondering if they will do anything.

Hopefully someone can give me some pointer with the VE table.

Spark map is already 100%

I'll take a look at these settings when I get home.

In the meantime, could you check your timing with a timing light? In my experience the #1 cause of the engine running crappy is that the timing is off.

I tested timing before I ripped the carby off 2 fridays ago. But I will test again to be exhaustive.

I was pretty sure it was a bad setting. Is there a possible combination of settings where all injectors fire at idle, and make it run BAD?

Thanks Ken, once this thing is going I'm going to trim the map perfectly and then share with the rest of you guys!

IT RUNS!

I'm using the pete13b.msq from the post your msq's thread.

It required manipulation to get going and idling nicely, but his map cruises fine probably pig rich but I'll need to fix the wb02 before i know for sure.

Its a great feeling when the car is running again!!!

I just noticed something very odd many mauitaibxr can help with.

I have a pair of 550cc primaries, and 38.5psi fuel pressure.

Why do I have 7.5ms req fuel when pete needed 10ms, and I have VE=41 at my curent idle cell when he has 58.

Thats literally 52% of the fuel he was using?

no turbo yet,

But I am 100%, as I just loaded his map again with my ign tables, and outputs wheel decoder etc changed, then I just scaled his map to have a max of 100 ve, and then dropped req fuel the remaining 66% to get it down to roughly 60% of the original fuel he had in the map. Now it idles fine. For the cranking pulse widths I just scaled all his pulse widths by 60% and its working better!

I owe pete a few beers I think

I'll post my rendition of his map!

Jobro,
You needed to scale the fuel back because I'm running 460 injectors. I'm not sure how cool it gets where you are, but my map needed more WUE (I'm at 200% @ 40*F, tapering off to 160*F).

Also, you need to change a setting in the More Settings > Shift Light/fan/output 3+4 to get the trailing coil (2nd gen) to work properly (if you are using FC ignition components).
"Output 4, LED18 source" needs to be OFF; "Use above Source or Fan" needs to be Source. I posted a screen cap of this in my post about "T1 not Firing..."
https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1201648731

I'm glad you were able to get it going and that I could provide the MSQ. I like BEER

Good luck with tuning,
Pete

Yeah I'll double check all these outputs and make them the same way they were with my old only timing map, because it was all working fine then!

Todays job is to fix the LC-1 and make your map only take up half the points in the table :P
