trailing ignitor
Hello everyone,
I finally got my 13B TII running but I still have some issues to work out.
testing the trailing coils both have less then 1 ohm. With a 12v signal the T1 coil will fire but when I put the signal to the T2 coil nothing happens.
Is this a sign that the ignitor is bad??
If it is bad then what ignitor/coil should I replace it with. I like the IGN-1A coil but I am not sure if I can run it with the stock leading coil.
Also when the engine is running there is a lot of smoke and black soot. I think because the trailing spark plugs are not firing and not all the fuel is being properly burned.
Thank you for your time.

The trailing coil has two inputs: a trigger and a toggle. If you manually test the coil you will always get spark on T1 by just applying signal to the trigger. You need to also apply a pulse to the toggle to switch the output to T2.
There are detailed trailing testing procedures in the FSM.
Lack of trailing ignition will not cause any major problems like smoke. The engine will run fine on leadings only, abet with slightly decreased fuel economy and slightly higher emissions.
Any smoke will certainly show up on a wideband as a problem, generally full rich, on a wideband. Some more info and a datalog will help.
