Megasquirt TIP120 component for Fidle

TIP120 component for Fidle

Hey guys i built my MS v3.0 and for my first gen i am gonna use the bosch Fidle valve. My question is were would i mount the component because the Megamanual says to mount it in the heat sink but i dont have any room left in the heat sink. were have your guys mounted it?

Remove the IGBT from the heatsink and board and put it in that spot.

I just bolt it to the case using an insulator kit.

were exactly do i install the diode that it says i need to install for the flyback of the valve? Also aaron cake i see that you have it soldered to the db37, why exactly did you do that? Do i just do it like the megamanual says to do so? Thanks sorry for all the questions.

Nothing is soldered to the DB37, that's just the angle of the camera. The picture was taken before the TIP120 was bolted to the case so it is just floating via the wires.

I generally place the diode up at the relay. See http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/megasq...Megasquirt.asp , about 3/4 down the page.
