Strange problem - engine cuts out at 3000 rpm
I suffered some burn out on my project, but am back working on it again. For some reason, the engine refuses to rev above 3000 -3100 rpm, and misses horribly. My AFR's go to 19 or above, and my rpms drop to zero. It wobbles between running and not running like this until I let up on the accelerator. I immediately let off on the gas because I"m worried I could damage something.
This leads me to believe I have a problem with my CAS signal not providing RPM's above a certain level. Is this a noisy signal or a problem with my unit? Is there anything else that could cause this problem? My idle isn't very smooth either. At times it sounds like I'm running on one rotor, but when I use my timing light I get a good signal from both rotors.
I'm on my way to the shop to do some more troubleshooting now.

A datalog will answer many of those questions. I'd suggest datalogging continuously for the first little while, so if an issue comes up, you have some data to go back on for debugging purposes.
Are you using 024s9 wheel decoder? if not try switching to this, it may help. Also could be a soldering problem on the board. If there was interference, I would expect the signal to jump around. The idle problem is fairly common, I use the BAC valve wired to the FIdle circuit on the board with PWM control.
