The solution to running the Electric OMP with a standalone!

Hey guys i came across these i emailed them to ask about them and they are still availible , they stop slelling them for a bit due to lack of interest but they have them back for sale

http://www.rotaryaviation.com/oil_in...p_adaptors.htm

the Adjuster is $22 bucks it goes in place of the electric stepper motor and lets you adjust the base rate manually and it increases with the rpms with the adjuster only it will use the stock omp set up minus the electric motor, i emailed him and he said that the 3rd gen electric omp adjuster will work on the 2nd gen S5 omp

the adapter goes on the omp and will let you run an external supply of 2 stroke oil to supply the omp, if you didn't want to use the engine oil

I'm goin to buy the adjuster in a couple weeks when i get my MS set up, i sure as hell dont want to premix if i don't have too, i can see it being a pain at the pumps

with that, it seems that the OMP flow would only be dependant on RPM, not on load like the stock OMP setup is, so you'd need to be injecting full load amounts of oil the whole time instead of what the engine needs

s4 mechanical omp only goes off the TB so that only adds according to the throttle position, goin off the rpms wouldn't be that much different

no, the S4 is throttle (~load) and speed, since its driven off of the E-shaft and thus increases speed and flow as the engine increases. This product only seems to do speed, with the "load" setting a fixed position. To use this on our cars ,which see all sorts of speed and load combos, we'd need to either have continuous adjustment of it, or set it at the max and at idle burn a ton of oil.

Or you can pick up the 3rd. gen mech. adaptor they list for $92,that uses the 2nd gen. mech. OMP.The front cover mounting flanges are the same for the 3rd. gen or S5 elec. OMP's IIRC.You would have to rig a cable setup(like a motorcycle cable) to work off the TB, but that shouldn't be hard for the average Joe to do.That's another option to consider.
