S5 BAC plug & FFE Crank Trigger ?

I'm currently wiring my MS3-Pro for the motor (S5 T2). Does anyone know what type of connector the S5 BAC is? Also for validation sake, the hall sensor on the FFE crank trigger should be wired to the Crank input (B&W shielded wires) on the MS3-Pro, correct? Thanks!

S5 BAC connector is the same as the injectors. A Denso style oval injector connector. You may need to grind off one of the locating tabs if you use a generic injector connector. Fiveomotorsports has a good selection, though be warned, the same connectors I ordered from them had poor crimps.

Yes, the FFE trigger connects to the crank input.

Thanks for the validation. I will order another injector plug for the BAC. I noticed in the wiring diagram for Hall sensors they say not to use the CKP- pin, just switched 12v, CKP+ and the ECU sensor return ground on Pin W18. Is this to provide a cleaner crank signal, or just for maintaining the same ground reference of all the other engine sensors?

You might need switched 5V. Check with the FFE documentation.

Hall sensors output a square wave, above ground, so they don't need the same conditioning as VR sensors. The VR sensor is a zero crossing sensor but the hall never crosses zero.

Just to verify, the sensor FFE uses will handle switched 12v

The S5 BAC is a Denso style plug. I bought a generic Denso plug for my car and had to file the notches on the sides of the BAC connector off. Worked fine otherwise.

The connector on the right looks like an EV6 clip, which is what FFE uses for their VR trigger kit.

It is in fact an EV6 clip, the injectors are EV6. Any chance you have a link to this "Denso" type?

That's a square plug... S5 BAC is oval.

See below, EV1 would fit the S4 BAC but not an S5. (S4 left S5 right)

Here's what I ended up using:
Nippon Denso Fuel Injector Pigtail Connectors | eBay

I actually think the notches on the bottom of the BAC connector had to be filed off, not the sides. When you get the clip, it will be obvious what doesn't fit. I just used a flat file. The material is very soft and took just about a minute to get it filed flush.

Haha, fortunately the plastic on the BAC cuts like butter.
