Re-doing wiring harness

Well, after accidentally breaking the MAT signal and sensor ground wires, as well as possibly damaging other wires in the harness, I was looking for a place to buy auto-grade wire in a variety of colors/stripings to re-wire it with. Anyone dealt with a place online? I was considering using the DIYautotune pre-made harness, but wanted to see how much the individual components would cost (and see if I could replicate the stock harness colors)

The harness components aren't cheap; also putting the pieces together properly requires an expensive crimper. Matching colors would be nice but... The DIY product is very high quality and harness reliability is way high on the list of things that ensure success.

I've been soldering everything so far, and need to tie into other harnesses and whatnot. their wire bundle sounds like a pretty good deal though.

It is a nice harness, plus all the wires are labeled right on them so if you are trying to use stock colors to keep everything straight their harness may be a good solution.

The DIY harness is kind of a work of art. Nothing exciting about the DB37 end past the shielded metal covers, but the actual wire used is of very high quality. It is obviously not the cheap thermoplastic stuff used by 99% of other manufacturers. It just feels better. All the wires are also labelled every 6 inches.

If you are ordering from DIY, then you can also order the connectors for you fuel injectors and the IAT/CLT sensors so they can be crimped directly onto the harness instead of using solder pigtails.

The DIY wire seems like the automotive grade GXL-crosslinked stuff you can buy from waytekwire.com. At $.06 per foot for 18 gauge wire, it is not the cheapest. They will also print on the wire for you, but I dont know how much that is. It is worth picking up a couple of rolls of different colors/gauges from them, but to do all the different colors and the printing does not make sense unless you plan on making a lot of harnesses.

Yea, I actually just ordered the wire and everything from DIYAutotune a few days ago, so it should be arriving soon. I will be soldering it together at the DB37, and crimping/soldering to the connectors that I can.
