Pullup resistors with a Zeal Daughtercard

I am using a MSII CPU on a V3 board

this *may* have been covered before but I can't find much info on it. Actoually info about the Zeal card is pretty scarce so I might take some pictures and do a small write up if I can figure it out myself with the correct info.

I'm following a few sites for instructions, Mainly Aaron Cakes and basically substituting his VR curcuit for the Zeal board , and I'm a little confused about the pullup resistors

The instructions on the diyautotune site for the Zeal card say to use a 1k OHM resistor between the LED and the proto area, then wire it to the spark outputs
How to MegaSquirt your FC RX-7

Aaron Cakes site uses 4.7k OHM resistors soldered from the LED to the pad of another resistor then wires are connected on the LED side of the 4.7k resistor to the outputs
How To Megasquirt Your 2nd Gen RX-7: Building and/or Modding The Megasquirt (bottom of page)

the "official MS2" thread on here connects the pullup resistors the same way as the zeal instructions state but instead of using a 1k OHM resistor they use a 4.7K
https://www.rx7club.com/megasquirt-f...stions-817580/

also since I already have a thread going
Aaron Cakes writeup says to connect a jumper between TSEL to VROUTINV and the Zeal instructions say connect a jumper between TSEL to VROUT. I wouldn't expect the zeal board to change that option on the main board. But I could be wrong.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I used the 1K, plenty have used the 4.7K... no problems either way.

Using the VROUT vs VROUTINV will dictate whether you use the "going low" or "going high" option in the ignition settings. But again, no problem either way.

alright, great info. I'll use the 4.7k just because it says to on more write ups, but I guess it's not a problem to swap them out later if I have issues.

If you don't already have them on hand, I found that the 1K was easier to find at radioshack...

If you use VROUTINV you should trigger on the falling edge of the CAS signal from the Ne sensor.

I do lots of arduino stuff, so I usually have lots of resistors on hand
