pre1.1-alpha 18 COP trailing-split timing q's

Hello all (please help me Ken!),

I posted this on the ms dev forum, but wasn't able to get much of a response.

I'm trying to set up my TS configs. I'll be running MS3x settup on a 13B-REW block with single turbo setup. I have TS beta installed, and the pre1.1 alpha 18 .ini loaded

I'm trying to configure the settings for running full-sequential fuel and four sequential LS-truck coils.

So I've got a few questions:
- For entering req fuel with the pre1.1 "rotary friendly" code, do I enter 1300cc or 2600cc for engine displacement?
- Also, after selecting COP for ignition mode, when I go to the Rotary ignition page, per the manual, I should select n/a (greyed out) for ignition type (since not using factory wasted spark coil) but it's only showing my a choice of FC or FD.

That's it for starters, and thanks in advance!

I believe James said use 1300 cc. It should give you something between 7 and 10 ms with stock injectors.

I'll have to take a look, you shouldn't have to do anything in that page really, since it's only used with the "wasted spark" setting.

Thank you for the clarification, Ken.

So I will still be able to utilize the split-timing table, without issue?

And I can still wire per the manual:

Spk A Front Leading
Spk B Rear Leading
Spk C Front Trailing
Spk D Rear Trailing

Inj A Front rotor primary
Inj B Rear rotor primary
Inj C Front rotor secondary
Inj D Rear rotor secondary

thanks again!

Correct, it should work as you have listed there.

James is wrong, or your software misrepresents the truth. A Mazda rotary 13B is most comparable with a 4 cylinder 4 stroke 2616cc engine.

You are welcome to argue this point but I will crucify anyone that tries to oppose this.

With the 1.1 firmware, you can use 1300 cc since you're setting "stroke" to rotary, and the software handles doing the proper math for you. We were trying to make things easier on the user in 1.1. If that doesn't give you the proper range for req fuel, then let us know and we'll fix it.

Thanks Ken, that's why I had asked that, as I hadn't been able to find a confirmation on that in the version notes.

Yeah it does make sense from that point of view. I just wish more people in the rotary game understood the engine is actually sweeping as much air as the advertised displacement.

Yeah, piston engines' advertised displacement is for 720 degrees of crank rotation... The 13b's advertised displacement is for 360 degrees, so to compare it to a piston engine you have to multiply by 2.
