Now what did I do?

First off this car sits for long periods of time. I have had it for about 2 years and never had any problems like this.

About 2 weeks ago i started having crazy problems with everything, first my innovate controller took a crap on me "Innovate let me return it with a RMA" than my ignition started to act up, breaks up bad under acceleration.

Today i tried to start the car to mow the lawn and it didn't want to start, so i hooked up my laptop to see what was wrong and couldn't find anything, so i tried to start it just for the heck of it and it started right up, i moved the car on the driveway, let it run while i mowed the area it was sitting on in the yard. Got back in the car figured i didn't need the laptop anymore and as soon as i unplugged the data cable the car died. I tried cranking it back up and nothing, i hooked up the data cable to the laptop with the laptop off and the car started right up, i unhooked the data cable again and it cut off again, i plugged it back up while the engine was spinning down and it turned back on, like messing with the key on a riding lawn mower.

Oh and i forgot to say while megatune is on it and at any time under acceleration it will disconnect leaving me with blank guages and i need to restart the megatune program at that point, and i'm also having the ignition problems.

could i have a bad ms unit? i have had it for about 2 years now...

I remember hearing about this problem, but don't remember what causes it.

You may want to make use of the search function on msefi.com and/or msextra.com.

I'll look around too when I get home.

I'm glad to hear someone has herd something about this problem. I'll try searching the msefi.com forums, until i find an answer I'll blame it on gamma ray bursts.

I have looked all over the place to see what i can find and i'm probably not looking for the right thing but i haven't found anything. I took a datalog yesterday and it looks like as soon as it senses boost it cuts off the fuel. can a bad map sensor cause the data cable problem also?

It might if it's shorting +5v or something.

I forgot to look for this problem, so I'll try to get to it tonight.

It turned out it was a problem with my harness. I had a few abandoned wires pinched. I rewired everything and it runs like a champ again!

Two months without a boosted rotary is like chinese torture.
