so my car was running megasquirt and for some reason it fried all to hell. i was told it was water damage since a few connectors had a white corrosion on them. i picked up a new kit and had my buddy dpf22 build it. the new chip wouldnt start the car but the old chip from my old board would but it wouldnt revv past 2500 rpm. i took it back to him where we did some toubleshooting in his car. got the problem corrected and found out that the new chip wouldnt work cause i was using an older program and he is using the newer one so when i would try to load my setup it wouldnt connect. well now we get the program on it. ensure that it works on his car. and now...

i dont get power to the computer. he told me to trace the harness so i cut it all apart to look for the reason. found nothing. my multimeter says i get power all the way to the power pin on the plug and all the grounds on the plug are good but when its plugged in with key on, no lights turn on. i cant see any components burned up but there must be one somewhere since we know it was getting power yesterday. could i have shorted something out and blown this compy too? i really really need advice. i was supposed to have this car in a competition friday and its not looking so great at the moment.

man im so frustrated.

here is some more info. i still ahve my old board and when plugged in, it lights up. i put the multimeter on it on some components that looked like they delt with the power side. on the led's i get about 2.5 volts on each of the 3. on the capacitor near the db9 plug i get around 10v. i forget the exact number now. so with the new compy in and the key on i get .6v on the leds and 4v on the capacitors. i guess the compy is getting power but something is severely limiting it. also by accident i touched a component that i dont know what it is but it burned me. it is a black piece with a copper coil wraped around it. it sits near the chip on the db9 side. should it be hot? my event got cancelled so im not in a rush anymore but man i sure would love for this thing to work right.

oh yeah. can someone post the schematic for me please? my uncle is an electronics guru and works on nuclear sub sonar systems all day. im sure that if i brought him this compy and the schematic that he would get it handled in no time.
