New MS build, stuck at an odd settings error
I'm a little stumped here, hopefully someone here has encountered this before. The car is a 87 FC with MS1/Extra running 029y3 firmware
I recently powered up the megasquirt in the car for the first time. did the whole initial setup in tunerstudio (also tried megatune afterwards, same result)
At first I got a couple 'legitimate' errors, like "you cannot use x2 as water injection and fan control at the same time", "you cannot use fidle for spark something something...." simple config problems, which i corrected
As soon as i fixed all the real problems, i get a new error - "&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&& &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&"
i see this in the mini terminal as well as the pop-up error if i power-cycle the squirt when the software shows 'Settings configuration error"
i'm not even sure how to approach this. if i purposely break a setting (like by setting water injection to use X2 again) it goes back to throwing a legitimate error.
Any thoughts?

I should mention that the megasquirt was previously used in an almost identical configuration in another rx7, and was thoroughly tested afterwards. very unlikely that the MS itself has an issue. Screenshot attached of the error.

Honestly, I would just reload the newest firmware to default the ECU and then set it up again.
The cycling fuel pump is an error warning.
If you started with a blank tune then many things could be wacky.

i haven't had any time to play with it yet, but yeah that might not be a bad idea. would you recommend reflashing then re-doing the whole tune offline?
does it make sense that the 'found firmware' and 'serial signature' versions would be different? screenshot is attached from the 'detect device' screen in tuner studio
