Need some help with an ignition map (13BT)

I've seen Muy's ignition map in the FAQ, but that's for an NA. Is a turbo map much different? If so, is there a place online that has the stock map layed out? Or does someone have a good ignition map for a 13BT already?

I'm close to going to ignition also. No map yet.

I want to be able to use the stock setting for the CAS so I could just drop in the stock ECU and not have to worry about changing timing. Soon I'll be looking over some microtech and haltec maps to create a starter map. I would think that the NA and turbo maps would be nearly the same for the vacuum regions--however, that depends upon if the spark plugs are in the same physical location--which I think they are. I believe some of the rotor housings have the plug in a slightly different spot so that could impact the timing settings. At this point I don't think the differences are enough to worry about--just something to be aware of.

Much to research. Good luck, if you find something good, post it up.

Scott

Hey Rex! Well I did some research and looked around a bit more and got something that might help. I got a stock 13BT HITman E6k map from 1987RX7guy and after messing around with the haltech software a little I got it to spit out a .txt file of all the maps! So I cut and pasted and changed the banks labeling to represent actual RPM and MAP reading. I'm posting 3 files: the original haltech map, the .txt it spit out of all the maps and my .txt of just the ignition map. I hope this comes in handy and would appreciate someone looking over all this and making sure it's sane. ;-)

hahahhhh! In the Haltech E6K software go: Options>Print ECU Information>Print Maps to File. Done. :-)

A few more questions on setup

I need to know how the MS interprets the CAS signals and outputs spark events. If I leave the CAS set at -5 deg (the yellow mark--stock timing) using the stock ECU at idle, then hook up MS and put 0 deg in for advance for those bins, will I get the timing lite flashing on the yellow mark??

It looks like the MS spark values are right on with the stock setup. I'm guessing this is true cause the idle advance in the spark settings of the FAQ show -5 deg.

Yea-yea, I could hook up and try it out, but before I convert my MS to full control, I'd like to have a descent map to start with. I'm at a point of no return with the hardware conversion and just want to make sure I understand this correctly.

TIA,

Scott

To set the timing with the MS, set the Fixed angle to -5, and then use a timing light to set the timing using the CAS. Align it to the yellow mark, then set the Fixed angle back to -10, and at that point you're done.
