Megasquirt Is my megasquirt dead?
HEY DCinPA,
Are you still doing the bug conversion??? Or is this on your FB??? Right now I'm doing Mega squirt on my VW and I'm about to test my wiring to make sure it is right.
Are you or has the Mega squirt been set up to fire coils properly??? Sorry if these are dumb questions but, when you know for sure it takes out the guess work. Make sure that each wire goes exactly where it is supposed, don't ever just trust the harness. I had my wires memorized by the time I got done.
You can test the spark by taking the CAS out and turning it...at speeds below your set point will put the ECU in to "crank mode" and you should be getting a rapid spark, above the speed set point then the ECU goes into "run" mode and fires the coils normaly.
Check the modifications that were done to your ECU to see if it was built to run the ignition system you are using (I.E. VR,HALL,OPTIC,Ect. and Coil configuration, and make sure that the jumpers are set for these). Also make sure that your firmware is flashed properly to your ECU and that your settings are all correct....
Good luck and keep us updated with your progress...
