If it started up on your old map, you probably got something wrong in your trigger wheel settings. Post them and we'll have a look.

That ECU also ran my engine for roughly 10 miles or so before I decided to do a part out on it because I came across a Chevy 5.3 swap for cheaper than what many wanted just to tune my old setup (Bridgeport, 1680cc sec., 890cc pri., B.W. S472, supporting mods etc.). I purchased this from the original Zeal Megasquirt Plug n Play group buy thread.

Alright maybe I will buy an Oscilloscope.

Yeah those are the setting I used that I got right off your site Aaron. Unless they are suppose to be different when running this pnp unit...

just for haha's did you change anything as for which physical and/or logical input the CAS signal came in on? Could it have been coming in on a different pin/port on the tune that it came with but when you went to do yours and check the settings against Aaron's it got changed?

If its working on the Stock comp it would make sense that it would be a setting then as the signal IS working...

just throwing out ideas...

The sad part is I never looked at the setting or maps that were on it when I got it. I just loaded a dif map as soon as I got my laptop connected.
BUT the PO said he has the map he had on it, SO I will try that when I get it...

Did you check for spark, fuel and compression?

That sounds like the best path to take - back up to what worked, change one thing at a time when tuning after that!

Actually, those settings are fine except for one thing. You don't want to use the 025 wheel decoder. That will start misfiring above about 4000 rpm. You'll want to use the 024 one.

Also, what trigger angle is it using? What cranking timing?

OK, that looks fine except that you'll probably want a 0 degree cranking timing. That won't cause you not to get RPM though.

If you could get tunerstudio and use it with the tooth logger function, that would help me figure out what the MS is actually seeing.

Well I have been driving the car on the stock ecu for the past week until I recieved the tune that was on it when I got it. Loaded the PO's tune onto it and the same thing, no rpm, no spark, no fuel.

It must be a hardware issue. Ken would you be willing to check it over and clear it and reflash the firmware? I could ship it to you and pay you if needed.
Thanks
Keith

Yeah, I can look at it, but every time this has happened, it works fine on my car and my bench.

You should double check that your grounds are clean and working, and I'd like to see a composite log taken with tunerstudio.

Oscilloscope, it will plot voltage vs time on a display so you can see the wave form, peak voltage, frequency and such of whatever you are probing.

That's a normal datalog. The kind of log I'm talking about will be on the "diagnostics" tab in tunerstudio.

It'll be called "tooth log" or "composite log"

Send me the unit, I'll send you my address. Sounds like someone installing and removing the case lid too often might have pulled a wire loose.

also, is your adapter a PCB or is it a bunch of wires soldered from a db37 to a stock connector?

One of those wires could have come loose as well.

Yeah I can do that. The connector is a db37 to stock with wires... Thanks for all the help Ken.

No problem, just get it over here and I'll fix whatever is wrong. Should be an easy fix.

About the grounds and stuff... the #1 problem when people are having these sorts of issues is usually grounds, so I have to cover the basics first.

Once you got it to run once it became pretty clear there was a wiring issue.
