ms decisions
who is all running the ms3x? is it worth getting this over a ms2 setup? i doing a 13bt swap in my 82 fb. ive played around with standalones and wiring from my past supra build. im just curious which ecu would be better for running my car.
The MS3 will run better hands down.
You have sequential staged injection support, full rotary support (no setting up as a 4 cylinder anymore with the latest 1.1 code, which though in alpha is pretty stable). You have a lot more I/O (no modifications required to the mainboard or any other board and you can run the stock BAC valve, boost control, etc... with the standard ms3+ms3x+v3 board).
It runs better because of the sequential support, it uses a secondary coprocessor to run the ignition and injection outputs (so there's little or no jitter, leading to smoother running).
Sequential is good because during transients, your engine gets the fuel it needs sooner than batch injection can do it, so you get better responsiveness. It doesn't usually help power much, but it'll make the engine feel like it's running better.
I don't know if you care but sequential can also help you get better fuel economy by taking advantage of the ability to set the injection timing to the point that allows you to inject the least amount of fuel for the desired AFR.

will running the ms3x with sequential be harder to tune then non sequential? ive tuned a stinger standalone before and alot of piggybacks but this will be my first dive into the megasquirt.
