Microsquirt 8 on a JDM 12a turbo

I have recently acquired all the bits to do a jdm style 12a turbo setup in my 1980 626. After looking at the Setup it appears I really just need the ecu to run fuel. Spark and ignition are taken care of by coils and a Jeff20b modded distributor. I would be running 2 injectors in my 12a center iron (12a built with gsl-se center plate). My needed sensors can all be of the gm variety and would include tps, map, coolant temp, and air temp. I want a very clean and simple setup. For a wide band I have an innovate but I have heard that brand doesn't get along very well with mega/micro squirt products.

Looks good. It's not that Innovate sensors don't work with Megasquirt, it's that Innovate sensors, in my opinion, suck. They can't seem to figure out grounding and seem to be the only controller out there that needs to be calibrated. All other widebands seem accurate enough with the sensor calibration applied at the factory.

I'd suggest using the Megasquirt to control spark as well. It doesn't require really much more work. Use a 2nd gen CAS and set of coils. It will be worlds better than that mechanically limited dizzy.

Thanks Aaron. I have everything to spark as well but I am very new to stand alone and figured limiting myself to a fuel only set up might be the best first step. The dizzy I have had been modded to work with a boosted set up and mechanically would not advance beyond 10 degrees
On the other hand the Microquirt does have enough to run ignition...it's very similar to a MS2 set up and after reading through the product manual it seems doable... decisions

Even if you don't use ignition control initially, put the wiring in the harness. That way you can start up fuel only and get used to the system, then convert to ignition control when you are comfortable.
