megasquirt without emission removal?

Hi all! I would like to know if there is a possible way to keep emission components when using a Megasquirt. On one hand I feel like its the standalone i'd like to buy, but on the other hand I might need an emission compliant car, and I wouldn't want to do the wiring/tuning job twice.

Thank you.

Getting everything to work would be a huge pain in the ***. If your current wiring harness in the car is in good condition, I would look into the megasquirt plug-n-play option. That way, when you need to smog the car, you can just swap ecu's.

The Megasquirt is not emissions legal. At all. That is why it is not for street use in the US.

that ms3 pro module looks like a cool board that you can mount inside the stock ecu housing for that stealth stock emission's compliant look.

The MS3X has enough outputs that I don't see any reason why they couldn't be used to activate the emissions solenoids. The FSM and training manual has pretty good documentation as to how those solenoids are used and when they are activated so with some research, you could likely have a fully stock emissions system run by MegaSquirt. Since none of the emissions system need anything but on/off triggering at the appropriate time (no PWM, no timed outputs, etc.) then it's probably very doable.

I seriously love how you put it that simply... But I feel its more headache and impatience; than very doable. At least that's how I feel about it. I think I'll stick to a Power FC and new harness, just so the learning curve doesn't end with selling everything.

I didn't say easy or straightforward, I just said very doable. It would take some research and experimentation.
