Megasquirt and MSD6

I have been doing some reading on the MSG6 ignition boxes, and I have always heard that one of the best upgrades to do on a rotary is the ignition system. so what am wondering, is there anyone running an MSD (or other brand) ignition system with the megasquirt system? I am wanting to get a hotter spark, and I can pick up an MSD 6, and a couple of blaster coils for around $300. I am just wondering if it is worth the hassle. would I just bypass the the MSII, and run the MSD box right off of the CAS? if anyone knows of any good links, I would love to check them out. oh, and just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the stock coil voltage output is? thaks

Honestly, unless you're running a lot of boost (16+ lbs), the stock 2nd gen ignition coils are more than up to the task (as long as they're working correctly).

Yeah, eage8 has had it up to 14 or 15 psi on stock coils with no issues. The 2nd gen ignition system is pretty solid.

I've hit 15psi on it with no cause for concern, although I've since dialed it back to 12psi to keep IAT's in check. 15psi didn't seem to produce much more power since the turbo efficiency is falling off pretty quickly (and you're coming up on the choke and turbo overspeed lines with more boost/airflow)

cdi ignition is the best choise !!! almost all my installs use a type of cdi ignition. I used the 6a and 6al. you just hook the spark output to the white wire of the msd box. you need 3 boxes for the stock fc ignition coils to work and remove the stock igniter of the coils. The stock coils produce a hotter spark than all the aftermarket coils I tested. Here in Puerto Rico is very popular to use this setup.
