Making an MS Harness...

just wondering who has done it. I was thinking about it, just wondering anyone has had any experience in it. I know MS has a relay box and stuff like that but just wondering what would be the best course of action... I'm keepiig functions like AC and Heating (will that complicate things?)

how difficult is it? is it less of a headache to deal with?

Smile Making an MS Harness... No Problem

AC and heater electrical systems do not have any thing to do with the ignition or fuel injection. If you are asking these types of questions my advice for you is to step away from working with this type of system. It not a plug in and go operation. My electrical and mechanical skills are very strong (Build complete race cars). My computer skills are weak but with the help from the guys in the forum I scraped by. If I did not have help in the programming end of thing, all the firm ware this and flash that I would be screwed. Start by reading some of the threads and see if you can understand what is being talked about and explain then go for it if you have the mechanical ability to do it. Don’t get me wrong I had lots of help and still require at times. But you have to know about systems to put the whole package together.

We will try and help as much as possible. No one has let me down.

Best Regards,
Kim (SCCA RX7 RACER)

I'm working on it.... yeah had a feeling they didn't really matter. My mechanical skills are up to par, it's just that I'm getting started with the electonic stuff and it gets confusing that's all. I've started reading more about it tho...

If you are making a wiring harness adapter so you can plug your MS into your stock ECU plug (plug and play) there IS two pins that must be jumped together for the AC to work. SCCA is right about the heat, that will not make a differance.
I`ll look at my wiring adapter and show which pins tomorrow.

Don't worry about your electronics skills. This may appear like a very advanced project in that regard, but really it's just a bunch of fairly simple projects one after the other. If you haven't already bought an MS, go the kit route, work through the documentation, and take your time with the build. In the end you'll have a solid understanding of how the whole thing works, and others will be asking you to troubleshoot their standalone installs!
