went out this morning to do some more tuning and for whatever reason i can not get the laptop to communicate with the megasquirt. I have tried everything i can think of.

Com1 on both, 115200 on both, no FIFO or anything. Switched everything to COM2 still nothing. turned off the computers firewall nothing. restarted a few times, nothing, i have no idea why it just stopped communicating with it. Im rather pissed.

 

Connect a mouse or modem to the serial port on the machine and see if it works.

I had this exact problem, though with one twist. My computer would talk to Megasquirts but nothing else. Long story short, it was a bad serial port.

 

i changed the data rate and it started working. set it to the 9600 setting for MS1 (i have MS2) and it was happy again. not sure whats up with that...

i am using a USB port with an adapter but never have had issues prior to this.
