im getting tired of this crap.

io dont know why, but even with shielded wire and havig it grounded to a ms ground,. it still will not even get a tach signal when cranking. sure it gets a tach signal when the cas is spun by hand, but not when cranking. i cant decide what i wanna do anymore. ive even checked my connections and everything. unless there is an exact specific pin that im supposed to ground the shielding to, that could be the only proble,. o that reminds me. would having the lid off the cas cause this aswell?

ANYTHING that causes noise could cause what you're seeing.

There are a few more things you can try to get rid of extraneous noise.

1) Your grounds MUST be in good shape.
2) you can try adjusting the bottom potentiometer to get rid of noise.

Recheck that you didn't wire Ne+ and Ne- backwards, as that will make the vr sensor conditioner more suceptable to noise, and it won't work right either.

IF it still won't work after adjusting that potentiometer... there are some more advanced debugging steps we can take to help me figure out your problem.

ok. i made 100% sure that the wires where hooked correctly. i also tried about 4 different setups and it all worked outside the car but not while cranking. and when you say grounds, what do you mean exactly?
the engine grounds? i could try soldering those ***** straight to the grounds and try them like that.

I'm talking the grounds from your ECU harness to the engine, and from the engine to the chassis. All of those have to be in good shape.

there isn't a write-up. You just have to make sure the grounds on the stock harness are in good shape. Make sure they're attached where they belong.

i think i know whats happening is that u have the megasquirt conected to a power signal that shuts off while in crank like the ac or blower and maybe even the radio lose the power signal while in crank there is only like two wires that stay hot while in crank either that or your +signal from the battery is to low while in crank

Are you sure you're not losing power? Did you hook the MS to the main relay wire?

I had similar problems when wiring my FD. I ended up removing all of the cranksensor wiring and MS ground wiring and redoing it. After that it worked fine (except having alot of noise on the crank circuit). My suggestion, although your crank circuit wiring may be correct, is to remove it and reconnect it double and triple checking continuity everywhere possible with a volt-/multimeter. It may take an hour or two but it'll be well worth it. There is definately a wiring or contact issue somewhere.

I may be able to help in other ways, or at least tell you if you're getting a lot of noise, but I'll need to tell you how on IM.

if the vr circuit on ms works with the stimulator and in stim for wheelmode, than whats the point?

what could be wrong with it? im not using the stock wiring. im runing a shielded wire seperate from the harness to get the signal. im keeping the harness as stock as possible.

is the shilded wire grounded imean there should be like wire all around the the shield
this needs to be grounded too if not there is no point of having a shield so there should be 4 wires inside and the actual shield is another itself and thats the part that needs to be grounded in order to catch any noise

yes i know. im using a detoothed cas. the two wires run to the cas, and the shield is soldered to a megasqirt ground pin.

should i solder a wire from a megasquirt grounding pin ( the rest hats left actually ) and just ground that to the engine istelf? would this ground any good? this would be an attempt to fix any grounds that i might have enben though the care ruuns magnificently and never does anything., hell my driving lights dont even dim. i just grounded what i knew how. so what im asking, is should i do what i mentioned above in an attempt to aleviat me not gettuing a cas signal at all even though i have everything set up accordingly?

I told you before that there is a way we can see if there is really noise on the VR wires... but I'm going to need you to crank and take a screenshot of one of the debugging screens. I'll talk to you about it if you IM me later or tomorrow.

where are these debugging screens?
btw i swapped out sensor, and i notioced they where more powerfull. so i used the detoothed wheel with the stock sensors. they seemd way stronger, yet even then, i get nothing.
