Ignition Q

Ok, this may seem real stupid. I was wondering.... Since the trailing spark doesn't work under 800rpm, Does the coil select shut off below that rpm also? This is important as it pertains to an Idea I have about running the trailing with the leading ignition LED.

How have you been muy? Car's running great for the last 3 months.

I actually wrote, but never released some code that allows trailing to work below 800 rpms.

I was going to release it, but it still had a slight miss on trailing on the transition at 800 rpms where it went from always firing trailing with leading, to firing it properly and timed. I never got around to fixing it due to the fact that I'm working on ms2/extra with all my spare time now.

I previously just added code to the macros that start dwell and fire spark that would dwell and spark on the trailing coils at the same time as leading up until a certain rpm was reached.

MS2/extra won't have this problem as trailing is going to get its own hi-res timer just like leading.

Oh, and I've been fine, but busy with ms2/extra and trying to get the ae86 past emissions.

Oh and to answer your question, when trailing is disabled, the coil select signal is as well.

Thank you much, it actually wasn't that big of a deal, to tell you the truth I am going to be picking up another MS so that I can run trailing via that MS and have negative split ignition timing. I kinda laugh because any other system that you have to buy that can do that stuff, you buy 2 MS units and its still less than half of those.

ms2/extra should be able to do negative split. At least I'm going to be writing the trailing code to handle that. I just have to make sure that when you say "0" or close to "0" it always fires exactly where it should. Shouldn't be too hard to do.

that'll be cool. depending on my timeframe for my whole set-up change, I may end up doing that instead, but like i said, its not like buying another ms is that bad lol.
thanx for the heads up dude.
Take it easy
