Megasquirt how to 0 the timing

how to 0 the timing

like the tittle said how do you guys 0 your timing in you rotary engines with the ms i know that the first notch in the pulley its 5atdc but i belive that the ms1 chip dont go 5 in the fix angle so what do you guys used.thanks

Set the fixed angle to -5. Connect up timing light, start car, adjust CAS until pointer lines up to leading (yellow) timing mark. Now set fixed angle back to the map (-10 I think). Timing is zero'ed.

-10 means use the map like Aaron said.

fix angle need to be 5 deg or -5 to 0 the timing and them set it back to -10 to the ms fallow the spark table.hey ken i think this needs to be in the faq.

It's already in several places on megamanual.com, msefi.com and msextra.com; Let Ken spend his well appreciated time towards code generation. That said, you're right, the FAQ could use a freshening - any technical writers out there?

I didn't put it in the FAQ because I thought it was obvious that you need to set the timing to the same as the mark on the wheel, and then turn the CAS to zero the timing.

The dialog where you do that says set -10 to use the map.

Also, it's not 5 or -5, you have to set it to -5.
