Megasquirt Help! Power loss after warmup
Help! Power loss after warmup
I've installed an MS V3 with firmware 29j1 in my 86 GXL. When the car is "cold"(after a night @ +5C or so) it runs great. Lot`s of power, although I still have to fine-tune my VE table.
After it has reached its final temp of +81C and then + 2 minutes or so, (depending how cold the car initially was) the engine shakes pretty badly when I touch the throttle, like timing is way off.
It hesitates very much and runs pretty bad all the time. So I re-re-re-checked timing --> it seems to be ok. My AFR at cruising is ok, at load it runs pretty rich I think (see included datalog and MSQ file)
In the datalog it starts to run terrible from 660 secs ( in MSLVV 2.25b5 ).
I`ve tried scaled enriching / leaning the entire VE table percent by percent, without any effect.
Then after it has been at a normal temp all day (+20C or something ) it runs bad almost from the start. (By the way, my MAT and CLT are 7C to high).
What am I missing? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

First, turn on some averaging on your Wideband Controller. I'm not sure which you have, but I think you have an Innovate of one type or another... so start up their software, and set up some averaging. I noticed your active-above temp is 71... are you using Celcius for temperatures?
Also, your spark table looks like it is very retarded... I'm sure that's causing some power loss.
Also noticed that your accel time is way too short... like .1 sec. That should be at least .5 seconds, or you should be using cycle based with a value of between .8 and 1.1.
I also noticed that you have the afr table turned on, but you're not using it on either of your ve tables: Fuel Basics-> Lambda AFR settings, and turn on AFR tables for VE 1
I'd change a lot of the 15.5:1 in the non-cruise areas to 14.7 or 13.2:1 though, especially at revs below 2000 and above 4000. Only cruise should be that lean, as running that lean anywhere else can cause stuttering and misfiring.
Did you run easytherm for the temperature settings? IF the temperatures are off that's likely to be the cause.
