Megasquirt help! many problems with my msq
help! many problems with my msq
Hey guys, been running megasquirt for around 2 months now with some on and off tuning and it's been really good fun. However, I'm at the point now where no matter what I do, certain problems keep persisting. These include:
- Warm up is very smokey
When the car is cold it smokes like crazy, however if I lean it off it dies. Are my warmup enrichments okay, or far from optimum?
- stalling after it's been under load
I have replaced my throttle damper and have it set to maximum resistance which has definately helped but is still not enough.
If I richen it up it smokes when revved. Is my deccel fuel cut set too low?
- stuttering
No matter what values I type into the accel enrich page, light throttle application always bucks and kicks around. Is it easier to put on a full range tps and use that instead of map? I have a 300zx one, just need to fabricate a bracket.
- mega tune refuses to flood clear after it has stalled
Is this a bug in the software? If the engine stalls and I try to restart it, the pulsewidths continue even with the throttle pushed all the way down and the flood clear light on. I have to turn the car off then on again for flood clear to work.
Heres my msq and an old datalog that went with a slightly older msq.
Thanks, I see light at the end of the tunnel, just need a little help getting there!

Thanks Ken for the quick reply.
I'll richen the bottom of the fuel map up, increase my decel cut to 3000 rpm and increase my spark timing by a few degrees in the lower decel range. I'll have to test it tomorrow.
Just wondering, is the noise thats present on my datalog of any concern? There isn't much but is it enough to upset things?
