Help!! Major Issues!!

I hooked up my MS1 V3 today to my s4 t2/vert and had some major problems... this is the pin out i used:

MS pin..... factory harness 2c?
pin 19 ground...... harness ground
pin 26 TPS ........2A
pin 21 water temp..... 2I
pin 20 intake temp ....2L
pin 23 o2 sensor ......2D
pin 33 rear pri injector ......3C
pin 35 rear sec injector .....3F
pin 32 front pri injector ....3E
pin 34 front sec injector ....3H
pin 28 main relay ....3I
pin 22 throtle sensor ....2G
pin 8 ground ....2C
pin 9 ground ....2R
pin 10 ground ....3A
pin 11 ground .....3G

pin 7 VR2 ground CAS -G..... 1P
pin 25 VR2 CAS +G .....1N
pin 7 CAS -Ne .......1Q spliced with above and then spliced both to pin 7
pin 24 CAS +Ne ....1T

pin 37 fuel pump check wire fuel pump test connector under hood??? yellow connector that when jumped turns on fuel pump

ignition wires:
led 14 pin 27 or 4 IGt-L 1V
led 15 pin 29 or 5 IGs-T 1U
led 16 pin 31 or 6 IGt-T 1X

do these sound correct to anybody?

I'm also not getting communication between MS and my PC... I'm using a radioshack usb to DB9 cable. I tried the telnet thing from megamanual but to no avail... i can put the jumper into pins 2 and 3 and it echo's back in telnet but no talking to MS.

BUT my major problem is this... after hooking up the fuel pump wire from MS to the underhood fuel pump check connector and turning the key forward i could hear the pump turn on but it continues to run... i then noticed a strong odor of gas... and notice gas dripping out near the turbo... I never tried to start the car, I wasn't sure if the MS is getting power or not... I didn't notice any of the LEDs light up... do they normally on power up??? Any help guys??? For the record, the car started and ran fine prior to the install of the MS with no fuel leakage issues...Thanks!!

well, even in the time sitting, your PD may have self-destructed or a fuel line popped off. Take care of this and test it with the UIM off so you can spot any leaks right away before doing anything further.

As for the cable, have you double-checked all of the settings that you should use for one of those adapters in the assembly instructions? Check what port the MS is trying to communicate on(communications/settings), and make sure that it's the same that your cable claims to be (can be found in control panel/system/device manager/ports). If the pump continues to run when the MS is on but not seeing engine speed, than you have a problem with your wiring... probably you have a short to ground in your fuel pump signal wire (brown wire in the check connector IIRC), so that whenever the ignition is on, the fuel pump is on. This should also be fixed so that not only are you not draining the battery with the fuel pump, but in the event of an accident that kills the engine, the fuel pump doesnt keep throwing gasoline onto hot manifolds, other fires etc.

I'll take a look at your pin connections in a little bit, after i find what I used to compare

the car never sat... I literally drove it yesterday morning with no issues. I hooked up the MS and that's when the problems started. I also made sure to look for signs of external fuel leakageand couldn't find any.... it was almost as if an injector was stuck open and the FP was just pumping gas into the engine and it was leaking out through a seal in the turbo or something... really strange. After letting it sit for a couple hours the fuel wasn't any where to be found.... which is good. But I haven't attempted to turn the key since.

Don't know much about the MS stuff (I am still learning) but the gas stuff check the injectors seats also. When mine broke that was exactly the spot where the fuel leaked to. Hope it helps!

did some more searching on here and think i may be onto something..... i removed to AFM once installing the MS, and I think it may be the cause of my fuel pump problems. It's my understanding that the AFM turns the fuel pump on/off. If this is correct, then how would one go about controling the fuel pump without the afm? If I remove the fuel pump acess cover in the rear and isolate the 12v wire, could i use thaty to feed a say a 20 amp relay and then trigger the relay with pin 37 (fuel pump wire) from the mega squirt? If this is possible can someone also helpme out a bit with the wiring aspect of the relay? i.e: switched 12v to 86 on relay MS fuel pump wire to 30 on relay?? Hope I'm on the right path here guys... thanks...

Thanks for the info rey, but I'm not sure if I'm having the same problem... like I said earlier the car ran fine yesterday morning, no issues, and no fuel leaking. this is also a fresh rebuild about 1500 miles ago(broke it in on stock ecu) and I didn't notice any issues with the injector seats at the time of assembly. My thoughts were that maybe, because i had the engine set to 5 ATDC to stab the CAS that maybe the rear rotor was in a position of overlap (both intake and exhaust ports open), bcause there is a fairly large streetport on my engine and that the built up pressure over powered the injectors, causing them to open and spill fuel into the rear housing and it in-turn leaked out..... I may be stretching for an explanation here, but I just find it hard to believe that turning on the fuel pump could cause some sort of mechanical breakage.

unless you wire the AFM to the car, or wire the MS to the fuel pump relay, the fuel pump will not turn on.

I did wire the MS to the fuel pump... I did this through the yellow "fuel pump check" connector. Located near the pasenger side strut tower. I ran a wire from MS pin 37 to the terminal of the connector that gave me a positive signal with a test light. But even after removing the MS wire from the conector the fuel pump would continue to run if the ignition key was turned to run.

Everything else aside, I'm obviously not wiring the fuel pump circuit correctly. How should I do this without the use of the AFM? Can this be done through the stock harness?? Or will I need to wire a seperate circuit for the fuel pump?

And as for the problem with MS not comunicatiing with my PC i'm going to try a different laptop today, it has a DB9 outlet built in, hoping to have better luck with that.

you should just be able to wire it to the non-ground side of the fuel-pump test connector.

if the fuel pump is turning on any time the ignition is on, you have a short to ground in either the fuel pump signal wire, or the wire that you have run from the check connector to the MS
