Smile Good Street Port Program to Start with.

Hi All,

This one is not a major problem. My car on cold start up runs a little rich but generally doesn’t quit on me. After about 160 Deg. the car idles smooth for a bit then it runs lean idles down then recovers. The car has a large street ported 13B; 4” air intake, stock throttle body with ported stock style intake runners. Stainless 2” headers joining together to form a 3” exhaust system flowing to the rear. Primary injectors are 450 and the secondary are 750. This car is strictly for the race track no pollution control or other idle control items. For idle it only has the air by pass screw in the throttle body (Which I made adjustments to no change) and an idle screw. As you will see in my log the idle is 1200 to 1500 RPM. From the start it has all ways been hard to bring it down to 800 to 1000 due to this hunting to lean area problem. Has any one come across some thing in the tuning area that gave them this same problem? Have a look at the posted information you may see something I am screwing up on.

Also note with this program I road raced almost every weekend last year with it. I have never pop an apex seal or suffered any engine damage. I pull from 4500 RPM to 9000 RPM all day long. The driving qualities below 4500 RPM are very poor because all last season I worked on 35% to 100% throttle openings (RACING). Dyno at the rear wheels only 182HP (True not online bull to try and impress others that read this stuff)

I have had a lot of help to get to this point so use this program as a base if you have something close to the same. It works. Now as you can see from the above request I am trying to improve the other areas which do not affect the on track performance.

Thanks looking forward to a positive reply.

from 4500 rpm, looks like your running alot of fuel. i would try to put in another range about 650 rpm. and try adjusting the values around your idle to stabilize it. i would try to be at full advane about 3500rpm.

Smile Good Plan

I am going in to the shop today. I have a few other things on the car to work on then if I have time I will take your idea and put it to work.

From 4500 RPM and up to 9000 RPM I get 13.2 to 13.7 AFR from my L-1 wide band sensor

Thanks
