good aftermarket coils?

when I install my 13b, I'm gonna wire it up on nothing but a CAS and coil packs. Is there a good cheap aftermarket solution for coils? kinda doesn't really matter what they are, pretty much anything can be made to work on a MS. On my miata's stock motor, people (myself included) would swap to coil-over packs from 2000+ toyotas for an ignition upgrade. Any ideas like that?

Why not just use the stock 2nd gen rx7 coils? They work fine and produce a spark that is plenty hot.

yeah, I guess they would. Can they be found cheap in good working condition though? The reason people swap out miata coil packs is because they are also comparatively fragile and temperamental, not to mention more expensive.

I don't know about cheap, but I have never had a problem with stock second gen coils.

I use 2 sets of turboII coils coneted to 2 msd boxes with no trailing split , trigered by the second trigrers in the cas and conected the megasquirt fuel only on a friend's proyect and have a good solid spark.I think you can simply use 2 Bosch BIP373 Coil Drivers to fire the coils, those ones are the most powerful coils I ever fire for $25

Running that way is very hard on the coils though. Wasted spark coils don't actually fire a spark on both posts all the time... the plug that's firing in exhaust is really just a short circuit due to all the ionized gasses there...

My recommendation is to go with a fully stock 2nd gen system. I've never had any issues with those, and I've seen them work fine up to AT LEAST 20psi.
