Lightbulb Finally got my used MS out of the box, where to start?

Hi fellows,

last year I've purchased a "MS I v3 with Error Board and S4 harness", my car being a S4 TII with full RB exhaust and therefore having air pump removed and if possible ACV, BACV but not EGR (as it does only good things). Also MOP removed for premix but this has nothing to do with EMS on a S4.

So one year been past and over and I want to start this.

But:
the few knowledge I got at that time is lost (2 CAS theeth has to ben taken off if I remember well... but I don't want and should change something in the MS, second LM1815? )...

My aim right now:
• check if it powers up: I've a in house regulated 12V PSU if it can help,
• check my computer link and if my dedicated laptop is fast enough (real time gauges and not 2fps!), coz if not I can put the MS back in its crate.
• check what have to be done in order (upload this, modify that...)

As you see I'm a bit lost.

If this can help here are some pics of the beast & stuff:

Under the MS box can be read: MS130-C, MegaSquirt-I ECU, w/ PCB 3.0 and handwritten 029W.

If anyone can give me guidance in this back to my mind project...

Matthieu

I'm no expert,, but since no one is showing you any love.

Your main concern is to fire up the MegaSquirt. It looks like you have a stock/MS1 wiring adapter. You need to power up the MS1 through this harness,, OR you can buy a MS stimulator (vehicle simulator) or JimStim (vehicle simulator)

If you choose to fire up the MS1 thru your harness,, you can go to this following site, on the left hand column you can find the "MegaManual", and under wiring you can find a generic non rotary specific wiring diagram/DB37 pin out. This should be enough for you to power up your MS1.

http://www.megamanual.com/index.html

After you get your system powered up,, you can test comm between your laptop and the MS1.

You should check out the FAQ stickied at the top of this section. It seems you bought a premade unit,, but it's still going to need some configuring I believe.

Good luck,,

If you are running an S5 rx-7,, you can use this,,, post #8

https://www.rx7club.com/megasquirt-forum-153/s5-plug-n-play-kit-763215/

it's a pin out of the S5 stock ECU wiring.
