Do I need th igniter?
Hello,
I have a MS2 with a v3 board, and I am using this to control spark to a 2nd gen coil. I have not been using the 2nd gen igniter, just the coil. Am I off base here? Should I use the igniter as well, will this give me a better spark?
Thanks ~ JEB

Hey JEB!
There is noting wrong with using the ignitor. Or you can use the MS to drive the coil directly. The difference may come down to one more high current conductor being switched. I'd prefer lower current in the harness when possible. Plus there might be slightly lower heat in the MS by sending a signal rather than driving the coil.
But I'm no expert in this.

Follow any of the Megsasquirt writeups that instruct you on how to connect the leading ignitor to the status LEDs using pullup resistors. Then just make the software settings changes.
