Cannot Load MegatuneII.ini file?

I had to format my computer, and reinstalled everything, i'm backed up the folder that all my MS files are on and i'm trying to get them back to work in Megatune but I keep on getting cannot load MegatuneII.ini file. Help would be great.

Edit:
The actual message is:
"ERROR:megatune.ini:0040 - The included file 'Megasquirt-II.ini' could not be opened.

Megatune is terminating."

I believe i solved my own problem after look more into it thanks to google. But i'll post the solution anyway.

I saved and copied the megatune-II.ini, and settings.ini files from here:

http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/code.htm

Follow the notes on where to place them and what to edit.

One thing i had to do that i don't think was mentioned in there, the settings.ini file kept on crashing megatune. Good thing I saved the old one, all you have to do though is look at the old one and the new one, see what is set and unset, match them up to the new file, and bingo everything works ... well atleast on my home computer, but should work in the carputer too. I'll keep you guys posted.

k so that didn't work out as planned ...

I can atleast open up Megatune now but i get this message:

Found in msq "MS2Extra Rev 1.0.2 "
Expected from ini "MSII Rev 2.88900 "

How do i get the MS2extra ini files?

k finally fixed up that problem ... i downloaded megatune from www.diyautotune.com and it included all the ini files that i wanted and even went back to old settings file that I had backed up.

Now i have another problem when i try to click connect to the megasquirt it keeps on saying no response. I know the cable works because i've been using it for about a year now, i took out the cable and plugged it back in still nothing. I'm sure it still knows that the megasquirt is there bacause how else would it give me the message that it did above:
Found in msq "MS2Extra Rev 1.0.2 "
unless it refering to the msq file.

Also the weird thing is when I was trying to get the software to work properly before it allowed me to connect once being under MS1 though.

I've tried uninstalling the com1 and com2 ports and also reinstalling the motherboard drivers but still no go.

get a wall plug adapter cut the ends off an old power supply but it needs to bo 9v-12v and 350milliamps-750milliamps. look in megamanual at v3 assy and there is a test program to download with something about a teleplone. Anyway it is a test for your cable and loop back in the ecu. If that works the cable should be fine, look at somethng in the config menu in megatune and in the downloader. And you did save the file to the correct place?

the power should not be an issue, this is with the megasquirt in the car while the car is running and should be seeing 13.5V according to my 2 other voltmeters in my car.

I'll get that megasquirt telephone thing but not sure if it'll mean anything

Open up a terminal and set it to the baud rate on the MSII (I forget what it is by default, but the MSI always worked on 9600). Connect up the cables and power on the 'Squirt. It should shoot out any errors and its firmware version.

so looking some more into the battery low voltage thing, and it would appear that the voltage has to be less than 10.5V for it to give that signal. So maybe I should check the voltage at the Megasquirt, but I would imagine that it wouldn't run if it didn't have enought voltage ... no?

Trying to google some more I found that some guy had a issue where he had uploaded a new firmware and was getting a low battery sign going also and just reverted back to the other firmware. Do you guys think its possible for when i connected through the MS1 style and as I said it did connect then but was doing weird things, that it might of messed something up inside the squirt and should try to re-upload the same firmware?

usually loading some new firmware (or re-loading the current bit) does the trick for me for random issues like this, altho i've never had the low battery warning. Re-load it using the method requiring the jumper, this seems to be more of a clean install, leaving less chance for remaining issues to stay.

On another note, have you checked the 12v voltage on the board itself when its plugged in? There could be a large voltage offset at the MS due to corroded terminals upstream or in the grounds.

thats the first thing I'm going to do today, but i highly doubt it all those wires are a year old, I check the power to the fuse box yesterday for the MS and that was fine.

Well today i finally took it out of hte car to reinstall the firmware on there, for some odd reason it didn't want me to load up the 1.0.2 firmware so i had to load up the 2.X.X firmware than go back to the 1.0.2 and that seemed to have done the trick. It was displaying the guages working in the megatune on my home computer.

I do have a weird question though, pulling out the Vaccum hose from the Map sensor, its got quite a bit of oils sitting in there I presume from premixing, Can that hurt the Map sensor? I know it was still working properly. Also would there be a way to prevent the oil form finding its way inthere?

put a little filter in the line to the vac sensor, it'll keep that stuff out and smooth the vac signal a little, making the fueling smoother too

I got one with my boost controller... It's just a little filter that goes in the vacuum line.

you can see it in the bottom left of this picture:
