Megasquirt Acceleration Wizard TPS Based Ajustment Needed
Acceleration Wizard TPS Based Ajustment Needed
Here is what I have at this time. At my Seattle race last week every thing was OK. Except I have issues with my acceleration wizard. It seams that if I am at 30 to 70% TPS and step on the throttle (0.316 seconds) it goes rich 10.5. Also I have a problem if my TPS is at zero and I step on it at the same rate as before (0.316 seconds) it spikes to 17 or 18. Sorry I can not post a data log they are too large (I record each full race, practice, and qualifying time) below is some information. If you have any ideas pass them to me. To come off the corners smooth I need to have good throttle response from 3000 RPM to 6000 RPM. From 6000 RPM 99% of the time my TPS would be at 100%. Once I have fixed this minor problem I will take the car to a Dyno and pull some numbers. After that I will post my engine modifications, program log, data log and dyno runs on the forum. Since the start of doing this mega squirt system I always have been looking for a format to copy and modify to my situation.
Thanks,
Information:
TPS BASE (100%)
RATE[V/S] Value [ms]
15.1 3.8
8.0 3.0
3.9 1.0
2.0 0.6
MAPdot Threshold [KPa/s] 50 TPSdot Threshold {v/s} 0.977
Accel Time {s} 0.5 Decel Fuel Amount {%} 75
Notes:
- These problem areas are constant ones I can see them in the data logs and feel them each time they happen on the race track.
- I have tuned this system over the passed 5 months to have my AFR always run 12.99 to 13.5 in all smooth and constant TSP positions.
-Cold accel should not be a factor engine temps run from 180 to 200 Deg.
-The secondary stage injection at these points is on, both PW and duty cycles are smooth and even.
- With the TPS at 0 and only on long decoration spots (High speed braking from 140mph to 60mph then back to throttle approximately 7 seconds) I have the AFR fluctuate from 10.5 to 14 from the close of the throttle plates to the first 2.8 seconds. Then it runs from 14 to 19.6 in the next 1.2 seconds then in the last part it returns to 13.1:1. This is in decelling mode and I feel it should not be a factor just mentioning it just in case others have another option.

basically it sounds like you just need to tune your accel enrichments...
You could try rpm-based as I've seen several people have luck with that.
Here is a link to the thread on msefi.com that goes into how to tune accel. It can be one of the hardest things to nail down while tuning though:

mapdot has helped a lot of people even without using rpm based accel, especially on the rx7 since the narrow-range TPS doesn't help that much above maybe 30% actual throttle position.

Here's some clips from a .dmp file that ran phenomenally well on a street port 12A/good exhaust/etc with the SE 680cc injectors at the TB - 16" from the ports. 167 RWHP. No bogs, instant response in any regime. This is straight MAPdot:

actually i've pretty much fixed that issue. I'm using a Speed density map as my primary map and then using a Alpha N as my secondary, what happens with my ITB's usually is that when i accelerate it you have too much of a rush of air coming in when just taping the pedal and you can see the map sensor reading over 100kpa, so basically at idle the when i open up the pedal a bit and sees that 100 kpa or so, the enrihments are so high in those cells that it works pretty good now. its only in the 500-1000 cells. I'll try to get a shot of it.
