86 na converted to 88 turbo 2 jspec

hay guys i read the faq's

but still not fully understanding this .

so far i have the car ready for the MS but not sure about my secondaires. friend of mine said that i needed the little silver box with the MS to controll the secondaires is this correct. sorry i forgot its correct name. its located under the stock intake box. near the passenger headlight. its silver cant miss it.
but is it really needed for this setup? im going all turbo 2 convertion. with the MS as the new ecu for it.

and also did the stock setup have something like a time retard? for high rpms? this is a new one on me .

basicly im just making a stock turbo 2 car will do upgrades later just trying to get the basic map and making sure the car can be a reliable .....

The silver box holds the injector resistors. use it to run low-impedance injectors. I am not sure what the stock setup does exactly, but you will find some basic ignition info if you look.

Start here. Read up on the facts about what the Megasquirt and all its various softwares are all about before you start in with to many questions.

BTW your friend does not know what he`s talking about AT ALL. The MS1 ver.3 will run high AND low z injectors so the resistor box won`t be needed.

If the car came with low impedance injectors, and a resistor pack, I usually suggest just leaving them in.

Megasquirt can run low impedance injectors without the resistors, but using the resistors is easier.
