if you squint real hard, you'll notice that one of the letters in the scammer's handle has some sort of funky accent on one of the letters. So it looks like the same letters / name at first glance but it isn't.
Check out the s in tom's handle here. Easier to see once I remove formatting and underlines:

Study the call name carefully.
Check their posting history.
Be wary of anyone asking for a direct email or text by posting their email and/or text numbers in the thread.

Would it be possible for the forum to limit user names to standard keyboard characters? This would be A to Z (upper/lower case), numbers 0 thru 9, and perhaps a few of the more common special characters (e.g., dashes, underscores, exclamation mark, pound sign, etc.)? That would go a long way to thwart these scammers that use weird multiple/simultaneous keystrokes to create characters like this ș
