Putting out some feelers for a set of OEM red leather seats as I'm tired of running the McDonald's spec. Specifically looking for a 1993 US set (93 is darker than 94/95 and the US style dont have the tilt handle on the inner side of the seatback). I would prefer a good condition original set than a perfect recovered set and the closer to Atlanta, GA the better since I know that the shipping costs would be outrageous.
I never realized the 93s were darker than the 94/95. I always thought it was just the Spirit R that was bright red.
Good luck with your search.
I've seen people say that the 93s were darker than all the rest. From the photos I've seen that seems the be true, but haven't been able to confirm in person.
Seat back can be removed. Stacked into a standard size uhaul cardboard box, with the rails removed, shipping might not be that expensive.
Finding a clean set, priceless!
I only say that b/c the last set I found, I was going to pay 3x the cost of the seats in shipping, which was going to put me around the cost of a set of Type F Mazdaspeed seats lol
Some pics for reference. The last three are from when my friend bought some aftermarket replacement covers and installed himself. He purchased a used set of "cloth" base model seats, and stripped the covers off. I don't have a pic of the finished work, but i suspet it is not as smooth as the promo pic.

Im really trying to avoid having to re-cover because nothing matches the dark blood red all that well. The reason I dont want to color change another set is having mismatched plastics/ seat belt guide. Unfortunately Im very much a perfectionist and could not stand it, even if I had a shop repaint everything to match. If it comes down to it, I'd rather get a set of red type F seats, as it seems those are much easier to find. Kinda ironic that its easier to find 20+ year old mazdaspeed seats than a set of red oems lol
Someone was parting out a red RHD interior on Buyee a few months back. I picked up this red doorcard for about $100, (before shipping). Unfortunately he never posted up the RHD drivers side. I don't recall he was selling the seats. The airmail (EMS) from Japan was about $100 and the doorcard thankfully arrived intact.
The aftermarket seat cover with the Ruff Rotor watermark is mine. My covers were NOT bought anywhere but were made from my local upholstery shop so they used my photo as false advertisement.
There's a pair of red seats for sale on FB marketplace right now. Looks like '93 from the color.

Talking with this guy currently, but have a feeling its a scam. He is very standoff-ish and keeps throwing out the classic "yeah I'll get more pictures tomorrow", but nothing comes up in reverse image search so idk. Remaining hopeful tho.

I'll look into these. Might be the best that I can get.
If you go through Jesse, you can ask him to dispose to the shabby RHS one. Looks like the seat belt loop, at least, is still good on that one, though.
Removing the rails will decrease the weight and size of package. You can likely use LHD rails, bought local to you.
Seamail is quite cheap. It usually takes less than two months.
Look at the sellers other red interior pieces. Smaller pieces could be combined for shipping. Many would be RHD though.
Well, almost immediately after posting my reply, I got a response from the guy on FB with actual pictures. Going to see if he'll ship them and go from there. Thankfully the seats are the last real piece of the interior I need (if only they still made color matched push clips b/c I need a bunch of those). I appreciate the continued help though!
Post your push clip requirement to the 3D printing thread.
I was thinking about modelling it, especially after working with @need-a-t2 on finding a good filament color match for the red plastic, but realistically I will just buy black clips and try to get a good paint match.
IMO finding a set of red stock seats isn't worth it, they haven't aged well and all tend to look bad in person due to shrinking and wear. I would recommend custom ordering new seat skins in a shade you like along with obtaining a set of black side plastics for the seats.
The red seat side plastics I've handled were not the same as the black and tan ones, the textured finish would scratch off revealing smooth red plastic underneath. I'm not sure if they're all the same, but they were very weird.
