Will not likely work for FD before Version 4 due to ECU/Harness changee.

This is not a 1999 jdm ecu so it will only work on a 93-95

how do you know? It came with a 99 import motor. I guess they could’ve of just thrown any ecu with it. But curious how you know?

I think R-R-R may be correct, but it is more likely an early JDM ecu ('91~'95). I was just remarking that it could not cover all the years.

Top is ECU from a Version 4 ('96~98)

Bottom is an earlier version, I don't know if JDM, USDM, California, Automatic or other. Mazda made significant simplification of wiring after Version one (so for Version 2 &3). But I don't know if those changes affected the pin-out of the ecu.

Major change is obvious for the Version 4 and continued for Version 5 and 6. Mazda changed to a 16 bit (from 8 bit) ecu for the version 4 cars. Power was upgraded to 265hp and 280 hp, I don't know if the hp rating had different ecu.

The N374 seems to be a nodule used on S5 FC. Whether it was also used on FD, I don't know. Open it up the ecu and see if it matches the pics in the attached thread below.

Can we compare these images. I think one clue is the the FC ECU seems to use only three plugs into the yellow bar. Circuit boards above an dbelow look pretty similar.

I didnt pay close attention but it seemed a little different. Now that i am seeing it a little closer i dont think this is an Fd ecu. The obvious signs is that its not a 96-02 ecu because of the plug shape and color but i also dont think it is a 93-95 ecu
