*Keen eyes will see no passenger seat or radio/cd player. Simply waiting for the passenger seat to be re-upholstered and the radio is on the way back from Michael Gagne from being repaired. Compression test numbers coming this week*
I finished this build during the spring of this year, 2024. Over the last year, I went through the car mechanically and changed, rebuilt, or replaced just about everything. If a nut or bolt had too much surface rust, I would replace that as well with the proper Mazda or JIS 10.9 zinc plated hardware. Every o-ring or crush washer possible was replaced during the reassembly process.
VIN: JM1FD3314P0208672

The bad?
The 30 year old paint looks stunning from a distance, however... There are plenty of rock chips on the hood & front fenders. The engine bay has some nicks here and there. The rear bumper has two small spots where it looks like the clear coat is failing. A few dings/dents/scratches around the car, nothing some Paint-less Dent Removal & a paint correction couldn’t fix. Or dive in and give the car the paint job it deserves!
The 30 year old interior plastics look to be original. Almost all of them show some wear and tear from faded color, to scratches, to broken tabs/clips. The passenger side rear bin was cut at the bottom, possibly for a battery relocation at some point? The center vent has two cracks. Thankfully 93 pieces are still available new from Mazda or even better the two individuals who make the upgraded parts!
Driver side door lock is stiff. Locks fine when in the car, however when using the key it does not always want to lock on the drivers side. When turning the key from the drivers side, the passenger side locks fine however the driver side does not always lock. SO you can still open the handle even though the car thinks it is locked, setting off the alarm.
Passenger side fog light glass has a crack
CD player is non-functional. Bose radio works fine!
Price: $56,789. Only trades + cash I would be interested in is a new Mazda 13brew block or the impossible to find: a Montego blue slicktop!

Price is negotiable of course, had to start somewhere!Just to reiterate any trades, I would be interested in a new Mazda 13brew block, new engine plates/housings/rotors, or the impossible to find: a Montego blue slicktop!
Forum rules - if you aren't buying the car, don't post (i.e. thread crapping)
Compliments are always good though.
That is an astonishingly clean car!
Liquid on the ground is water, I just washed it!

Hot start video, starts with ease!
Picked her up last Friday & drove 1300miles home.
Seems like a reasonable way to get used to your first FD right?
