Description:

I have a NEW OEM crate motor 13B for the FD.  Purchased from MazdaSpeed, I was told it was a 2011 specification engine, with whatever improvements they had done over the years.  We are a small garage, but a long time MazdaSpeed Team member. About 4-5 years ago MazdaSpeed dudes called me and said a batch of FD engines was coming to the US, and did I want any?  At the time, I had two potential customers that needed engines so I ordered two of the 50 that were coming.  Turns out, customer 2 backed away from the rotary idea and went to the dark side with an LS swap.  Had originally planned to put this engine in son's TurboII, but hearing what these engines are now going for as production is over, decided we could rebuild his engine and sell this one.

So today, I am offering for sale my new, still in the shipping box, FD engine.  Never been out of the crate.

Just an FYI, production of the FD engine is not over. They have done a recent price increase, however. You can still buy these brand new from Mazda.

OK, that is news to me. My guys at MazdaSpeed said the factory assembly line for the FD was shut down to setup production of the single rotor rotary for the Toyota hybrid. After reading your reply I tried to check with them but their phone number seems to be down at the moment. So I called my local dealer who advised me "that the FD engine series has been retired".

Give me info for dealers that can get a new engine as it good info to have if these things are still out there plus I would like to see what the "price increase" amounted to.

cheers
Henry

They've been advertised recently by vendors on this site, definitely still available.

If you are going to sell something for $11.5k that you bought years ago for likely less than $6k, might want to do your own research instead of asking people in the for sale thread for info.

A unused crate motor may be worth less than the sum of its parts.

Just check with the Mazda parts department for prices on the individual pieces.
