1987 Mariah Motorsports Widebody Rx7
For Sale
Silly question but I understand the car is tuned for e85, will it run fine on 91 octane as well?
I also live in California, will the vehicle purchase come with a completed smog inspection?
Couldn’t PM you since my account is new.
Thanks!

After running E85 I would never go back to 91 gas. You can run boost safer, cleaner, cooler and not to mention its a lot cheaper too. Just had fun 140 miles round trip to SevenStock and still cant believe she almost got 15 miles a gallon.

Would using 91 pump gas require a new map to be loaded or will the ECU adjust accordingly?
For some reason, I have no PMs showing up. I know I saw an email about it.
I am interested in the vehicle but since I am in NorCal and the holidays are around the corner, I probably won’t be able to make a trip until after the holiday to check the car.
I saw this car at SevenStock. This car is an absolute bargain at this price. There were two RX-4's at the show asking the same money and not even close to being in the condition of this car. Needs to be at a live auction. Good luck!

I feel a potential XMas present coming to someone ;0) So much car here are probably should raise the price the more I think about it. This is Mariah car #2 and is the ulitmate 560 HP E85 engine build that will put a smile on your face when the boost comes on ;0) I was also told recently there are on 3 full Mariah FC kits that are running and assembled. The third one has a 3 rotor in in out of Florida. SO ultra RARE!!!
Here is an ad for car #1 that is also a Mariah kit.

Mariah Motorsports built this car and if you also do a search online there are a few photos of it from back in the 90s. Without high wing now as I took it off and saved it for owner who wants to put it back on and keep it their true kit. Previous owner bought it off was close to Mariah shop and knew Jim the owner of Mariah for many years. I just got super lucky to get it used in 2009 with a worn out motor. Not the case now and restored. Jim Hagerty also did lots of work for my brothers FD before switching over to Lucky 7 Racing. As you know are phenomenal engine builders.

Along with Jim's red TII, Mariah also built a black NA (86-88) and swapped a TII motor into it. It had the complete Mode 6 kit with some black HRE wheels. I have the pictures and info of the car on my other computer and it looked really mean! I'm not sure when your car was built but I believe the red TII and the black are the first 2 Mode 6 cars they did. In addition, they also did an '88 convertible with the Mode 6 kit with a modified Mode 6 wing on the trunk., which I believe is the 3rd car they did.
Could your car have been the black/black I saw there? I want to say the interior was burgundy but I'd have to look through my files to be sure.
GLWS, I sure would like to add it to my collection!
The Red, Black, and Silver were essentially being built at the same time with the red red being finished first and the silver and black being a tossup due to the black cars interior being leather wrapped and lagging.
If anyone ever picks this up, I still have a couple Mode 6 bodies for any repairs that may be needed in the future - not that there are any now.

Significant price adjustment for no finer FC build out there. New steal price will start at $29,500. This is painful to do but I know there is a rotary lover out there who will enjoy every bit of her and enjoy all the car show action I have. Extras pics on FB and CL also.
Ttt!!! Price will be going up soon as since Jay Leno law about to pass in California. All cars 35 years or older will no longer need to be smogged out here. Expect older cars to increase in value especially our nicely modified Rotaries!!!
Ttt...29,500. Small increase...ultra rare #2 car by Mariah.....New tires have been put on..going to recharge that AC soon. Just keep her if a reasonable offer doesnt come in. Enjoy the summer..
Hey Goodfella nice collection of rotaries you have. We would have a nice run next to each other if we were ever at a stop light. Our family has owned rotaries since 1992 and my brother has an FD as well. I cherish this car and a fraction of the price that has been put into her as she is close to perfect. Remember a few years ago how much Rx7s were commanding ;0) The market has already bottomed and hence the adjustment. 29.5k is quite fair and if she can stay here for while if nothing fair comes in. Just will take her to Seven Stock again in a few months ;0)
SOLD!!!!!! So happy it went to a true rotary enthusiast who also owns an FC. He has had work done by Lucky 7 Racing recently and knew how much detail and amount of money was invested. She’s in good hands now and I got more money than the number #1 red car on BaT. Thank you everyone for your support and we miss being on this forum.
I've been out of the Rotary game for about 22 years and I'm trying to get back in. By any chance was this car purchased from a gentleman in the OC/LA area? If so, I remember meeting the original owner every friday at Super Autobachs. This brought back memories and I can't wait to get back into a rotary.
