You might find on a Protege or Miata radio in the junk yard?

Did you order this part number? FD01-66-BC1

I ordered this **** 2 months ago from a local dealer and it was an exact replacement for the original **** on my R1 radio.

That's the one. Does the **** go all the way on, or does it stick out a centimeter or so? That's the problem with mine. My head unit is from an R2, but it should be the same as the R1/base. At first I thought maybe the shaft was different, but it is confirmed original.

There is a metal sleeve inside the ****, and a tab that fits into the slot on the shaft. It appears the diameter of the sleeve in the new **** is too small.

Thanks for reply.

This is how the new volume and treble/bass ***** look on my radio. I also bought new trim pieces for the left and right covers but haven’t installed them in these photos.

I remember lining everything up on the new ***** and then pressing firmly so each seats properly. Perhaps give that a try?

I also attached a photo of my old volume **** in case you are still interested.

Hmmm, that indeed looks correct, I'm not sure why mine does not want to install properly. The slot is lined up, but it will not go on all the way no matter how hard you push. Thanks for the info, in any case.
