Description:

I am selling this vehicle because I am just the wrong type of person for project cars I guess?  Originally I had plans to swap out for a Turbo drivetrain but didn't realize that would cost north of $25k, plus $6-8k for the donor drivetrain.  I don't have the time or space to do it myself, and I guess I'm just not committed enough to drop $30k into that.  My daily driver is fun enough.

Anyways, the car has been owned by my family (first my dad then me) for 22 years.  Was purchased in September of 2000 with 101k miles on it.  I even have the newspaper with the ad highlighted.

Very well maintained (what I can do).  Complete and total tune up 50 miles ago.  Plugs, wires, battery, all fluids flushed and filled, lights, wipers, fuses, all filters (gas, oil, air).  New hatch struts.  I had planned to do a lot more and it just isn't in the cards.  I'd be happy to talk more about it if you care to hear about it.

Anyways, it runs good, but the trans nose seal leaks, and a rubber exhaust hangar broke and there's a small hole in the exhaust.  Paint is 7/10.  Body 7/10.  Nothing crazy but a few dings.  Will provide detailed pictures/video for a serious buyer.  Interior 9/10.  Windshield has a crack.  Engine probably 8.5/10.  Trans 7/10 cause of the leak.  Sunroof works, but is sticky.  Headlights work perfectly.  Passenger auto seatbelt works, drivers does not.

Fresh Texas title and inspection.  Never wrecked, never raced (didn't get that far lol).  Located a little north of Dallas in Plano, Texas.

Original miles. Don't have a compression tester, but it starts/runs fine.

Created a drive with more pics in a higher resolution, plus a video of me driving around.

Hi Luke! Not open to trades, as the sale is to make space in the garage. However, I am dropping the price to $7500. Based on feedback from some market research, I think this is a more reasonable price.

Let me know if anyone is interested at this price.

The top bidder never put down a deposit and has continually said that he will "try and come get it soon, he's just busy travelling"

I don't really have the patience for that. It seems like all the bidders just make new accounts so they can do that without consequence. Ebay was a nightmare to deal with as well. I'm in no rush for the cash, would rather do it this way I guess.

That's disappointing to hear. I really dislike eBay for that very reason. Best of luck with the sale. Wish you were a tad closer and I'd consider, but with these daily fuel price hikes, shipping/driving anything long distances just became a lot less reasonable.

for the record, my old 2nd gen had over 160k on the clock and ran very strong. the oil rings were going bad though and it smoked a little on start up, but I sold it to someone as I had a built motor going in it. They guy who bought the motor and drove it was a rotary guy and couldn't believe how strong it still pulled.
