I am very pleased with mine. Painting techniques have improved. You just have to find the right shop, with the right skill.
Just me maybe, but I'd rather take the risk, and know its an OEM part under there.

I had a chance to cruise for about an hour at 150kmp/h this summer and the car felt very stable and planted. And I got 12 litres/ 100 km for the trip.
I feel the side skirts attributed to that.
Having said that, I feel the car without sideskirts and mudflaps looks equally as good.
Looks 'lissom".
But the extra aerodynamic effect may offset the downside of the bulkiness of the skirts..

Here is what mine looked like after several years in storage. They had suffered from an uncareful removal.
My bodyshop did a very careful and exactly effort to bring back to life.
(I paid C$450 for these as is.)
