Well, I was cruising home from seeing my brother who just drove from Florida when I see some bright *** tail lights get all up on my ***, while I'm driving in the right lane. I'm going 65-70 (night speed limit=65) so I reach my hand out the window to signal him to go around. Well, I hear an auto fartpipe downshift and a white tC with black wheels pulls up next to me and slows down. I didn't really feel like getting a ticket, but this guy was getting annoying- I'd slow down, he'd slow down, I'd speed up, he'd speed up- all the while stabbing his throttle. It was obvious he wanted to run, so I slow down to 60mph and revmatch into 3rd gear. He mashes the throttle and I hear it downshift, I then see that he's going nowhere in a particular hurry so I put the petal down and instantly pull half a car by 6500rpms in 3rd. I shift to 4th and spit a nice set of flames and just pull on him even harder. After it was all said and done, he was about 3 or 4 cars back by the time I hit about 105mph. Pfff, that was pointless. Of course once I slow back down, he pulls a flyby, but I expected it.

So the tC driver raced you in reverse? If you only beat him by 4 cars just imagine what the outcome would have been had he been going forward!!

Uhmmm I raced a Scion XB last night in my '99 Nissan Frontier and pulled it....I Lol'd.

 

^Yeah, but the XB and XA are less powerful than the tC.

 

why does it seem like every tc wants to rev on anything that moves? ive seen some in my town rev on mopeds with exhaust systems. seriously...

 

I don't know what most tc owners are thinking. I drive mine civilly on the streets, only tearing up back roads etc, well as much tearing up as it can do. lol. Its good to know that the NA rx-7 is faster than the tC because I would kill myself after all this time and effort to have a slower car. Probably not kill myself but still be pissed non-the-less. But the autos are tragically slow, geared more for economy than anything. 5-spds feel quick but the short gears kill on the highway, they perform pretty well for what they are, it is just too many people try to make them out to be something they are not.

 

^True. Plus my FC has the Auto 3.90 diff (shitty) so I'm not going anywhere in a hurry myself.

^Me too. I talked to Micheal (the guy who told me about the vid ) and said I'd really like to get ahold of it. He said he'll give the kid a call. Mike watched the vid and said after the flame, my car was smoking a little (enough to see my tail lights reflect off of it, lol).
