I've still got a couple of hondas, and my b18c civic isn't shy. It ran a quicker time than my stock FD3s ever did anyway.

In fact if you look a the all motor scene in australia, it's dominated by hondas, rotary mazdas and vw's. I haven't looked at the rankings in a while, but my mates AH civic was right at the top last time i checked.

i hate 90% of the hondas out there but thats because there peices of ****. my buddy has a late 80's hatch (the crx body style) i dont know what year exactly cause im not into hondas, but he has a H22 swap built up hardcore and he runs a 100 shot of NOS. plus its compleatly gutted... econobox or not this thing is ****** quick and fun to drive to it feels like a go-cart lol

B18c in like an ef hatch is going to be light and pretty quick. Same thing with an H22 in a crx or civic. Stock can get in 13's.

H22 defanitly,i was going to do an H22 swap in my prelude, but then i traded it for an 88 vert.ither way H22 is the fastest honda motor if built properly.

imprezas are family cars trying to be fast?. you got a lot to learn man, an impreza is a true sports car, so you're saying that imprezas today that are making 400,500,600whp are just trying to be fast?? give me a break man. if you look at the tunning scene, the subaru imprezas are on top of the list along with evos etc. imprezas aren't trying to be fast, THEY ARE.

H22's are great if you leave them n/a, but they are a very poor base to start slapping FI on. I believe the F22's are the prime FI candidate of the prelude engines, but don't quote me on that, heh. As for "best" small displacement, vtec engine, i would say k20.

k20 hell yeah, if you can afford the swap...

B16 is good if you're going to boost it. B18 vtec is good, I'm not a fan of LS. H22 is a great all motor engine. My cousin has built a lot of hondas, so I usually ask him for advice. He currently has a 91 crx with a b18c1 swap. He had an h22 with an h2b kit and b16 trans in it, but he didn't have the funds to finish the swap so he traded the h22 for the gsr. Car is mint as hell and is very quick. I think he may be boosting it. Yay no traction haha.

I can definitely give props to well built hondas, but if someone is thinking that his vtec brings all the girls to the yard, he deserves a reality check.

some hondas are nice granted may not be fast in a straight line but a built NSX or S2000 on a track is a force to reckon with.

If you mean beat the evo as in running it over with your gigantic gas guzzler, than yes you can beat it, but if you mean beating it on the track than you must be mistaken. And what do you mean by real cars?

Man you guys are so wrong. Try being objective instead of viewing the car world through FD tinted glasses.

Yes this is an FD forum, yes I love my FD, but most of the Honda hating on this board seems silly to me.

You can't really compare the FD to a Civic. A 15 year old econo-box is of course, "garbage", when compared to a flagship sports car that sold for 3x as much.

I understand "civic" hating, god they are so lame with those spoilers, ugly ebay parts all over, cut springs, welded on "fart-cans". But some people make some very clean and tastefully modded Hondas.

s2000 and NSX are both very good race cars. Admittedly the s2000 is not an easy car to handle, but it is not slow.

I've encountered a good number of well-built, turboed s2000s, that are FAST as hell.

The NSX is not garbage, sorry... It was never intended to be a drag car.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_VcESSN0Nw
This video is from inside an FD with basic bolt-ons and stock twins vs a built NSX, so naturally the NSX destroys it. We all know a 300hp (bolt-on FD) isn't slow either though.

Oh wait, here's an NSX destroying a built supra in a straight line too:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_VcESSN0Nw

Watch these with sound to get an idea of the RX7/Supra drivers' reactions to the garbage NSX.

It's an OEM engine build up... not stock exactly, but close.

The civic did a 13.6 @105mph, the rx7 ran a 13.8@104mph when stock,

The civic was so much easier to launch too (on cheap *** aftermarket springs and stock shocks ffs).
