My TII Vs. B18B CRX
So there's this guy rollin' around here in a white CRX with red rotas. He revs at everyone, I didn't think much of him for a while. A couple months back, my buddy in his Z31 300ZX pulled up on the guy, and the guy started revving at him, and jumped on my buddy, but my buddy still pulled away. I was surprised how close it was though once they got an actual even run in with no one jumping.
So, I'm cruising around a couple nights back with a buddy of mine and his new Mustang, and I see a flat *** in front of me, I'm thinking "Oh damn, is this who I think it is?" I've been wantin' to get at him for the loooooooongest time. So, I speed up a little to catch up to him. And to my delight, it was him. I look over at him and he nods and starts revving. He drops into second and jumps on me. I drop it into third and floor it. I spin for a moment and then bite it and he's maybe two lengths or so ahead of me. He spreads the gap maybe another car length, shifting all the way back up to fourth. My turbo just starts screamin' as I quickly catch up and fly by him, still in third.
He wasn't as slow as I expected, but, I hate when people try to jump in races. : /

I love how everyone thinks Hondas are so slow, but that's also because you've never been up against a decently built Honda. If you think that B18B (150 HP) is something, then think again. If he had been running a B18C1 (180 HP) or C5 (197 HP) you'd have a much tougher battle. A B18B is a very cheap and easy to do swap, and wasn't exactly the top of the line motor for the Integras. Also, it's amazing what you can do with a turbo SOHC D series motor do. Don't rule Hondas out just because you think all of them run a 90 HP motor.

^Who cares? He didn't run a car with that engine swap. When the **** are people going to stop with the "Well, you would get you *** beat if you ran 'X' car with 'X' engine making 'X' horsepower"... Who cares what "could" have happened?
EDIT: I certainly hope this forum isn't going the way of StreetFire/YouTube comments.

I see nothing wrong with hondas, everyone thinks any honda = ricer pos. I've seen some nicely built ones and I have respect for that. FWD or RWD I don't care.
Edit: And for two people who drive fb's and an N/A fc to be talking **** haha.

Ricers are ricers, but built cars and built cars...way to state the obvious, huh?
I just saw a bunch of civic hatches, nsx`s, 7`s, and elises all running around the track at Twin Ring Motegi a couple months ago. I`ll post pics when I`m back in the USA.

I certainly hope I'm not one of those you're referring to. I simply stated that its stupid to argue with "Well, this engine can do this in this car" when it wasn't the case in the encounter at hand. Not hating Honda's at all! In fact, I'd like to do a K20 EG Hatch one day. All I'm saying is that keyboard racing is ******* retarded. Anyone can pull a car out of their *** and say its faster than something.

If you (ie the owner/driver) enjoy building the car how is it a waste of time? It's all just opinions. Because you can't drift0 or do donuts or **** it's not good? I know this will go no where because it's on an "all mighty" rx7 forum, but who cares if it's fwd or rwd. It's a ******* car, build it and enjoy it.

For the record, I never said anything about Hondas being POS's. The car was quick, even with a B18.
But it's people like the guy that owned this CRX that give Honda drivers a bad name.

FIRST i will add that HOndas are NOT FTL at all. Ur just lucky u didnt race my old civic hatch. ran a 12.4 1/4 mile. i would beat just about everything i raced. hondas are great cars. i had 3 of them and i kinda regret trading my hatch for the rx7 but w.e i like the rx7. i just dont like when people always rag on hondas. i proved to alot of people that hondas are NOT slow if u have a good setup

I think Hondas are pretty quick for gas savers, but its NOT fast until its a good swap (K20, etc.) in a stripped out CRX or Hatch. Thats when they are fast. I still wouldn't buy one unless its the S2K which I had a year of experience with. I wonder what would happen if I swapped a 13bt motor in a 90 miata. That would be crazy.
Good kill tho.

They're fun cars. My cousin was always building hondas, and I began to like them. I used to hate them and bag on them, but now I'm open to a lot of imports. His last one before this crx was a 95 si hatch with a usdm b17a. I drove it a few times, was a pretty quick little car. His friend was building a crx with a b16 turbo but ended up selling it before finishing. He basically gave it away, I wish I would of had the cash to jump on it.

I've been trying to get out of cars actually, but it is kind of tempting to build one. Even with just doing something simple like an ls swap and turbo it, or ls/vtec swap. My dd is a 93 civic coupe so I always have the idea at the back of my mind, waiting for me to get money haha.
