You're right about an FD being a "cheaper" car to go fast because of one simple fact. The FD cant hold value for ****. Both the supra and FD were in the area of the same price when they were both brand new. The supra had more models though with more years for sales in the US. The FD only had 3 years and less models in total than the FD.

I was searching for a supra last year for ***** and i found a 94 TT 6spd with 126k for 26k, twenty six thousand dollars.

They hold value for a reason. Do you know toyota is running the jap world when it comes to overal quality and craftsmanship? The supra is one ******* solid car. And im not saying that to sound like a dickrider. Any car enthusiast will tell you that.

Our cars developed a bad rep because of the engine, it was known to be unreliable. No matter how you wanna put it, the owner didnt keep up with the car etc etc, it was a car not thought of by many people, i mean look at most of the owners today, all kids. Look at the people who own supras, yes kids too but also people who have porsches, vipers, benzs as their other car.

Stock engine vs stock engine, you shouldnt even compare, the supra takes the cake. If you think otherwise, you're delusional. Built up and they are even more menacing. Built rotarys are demons too but the 2JZ-GTE has been known as one of the strongest engines ever put into a production car. Its forged internals make the engine withstand TONS of power without doing anything to it. There are people making 600, 700, even 800hp on the stock engine. Maybe some head work for better cooling, thats about it. The bottom end? ALL STOCK.

Im not going to lie supras do hold better value.
and are probably more reliable.

all im saying rx7 eats supras at the drag strip, on track, and on the strip.

FOR THE MOST PART.
now there are monster supras that do eat everything.
but for the most part the rx7 do pwn Supras NP.

Rx7s dont eat supras at the strip. How many STREET rx7s have you seen at the track running anything faster than a 10?

There are countless supras, stock WEIGHT, full interior, AC, no traction bar, running low 9s, even 8s. Look at the WOTM for an easy example. The dude DRIVES the car there, switches wheels/tires and runs 8s, then drives the car home lol Factory 6spd too. No built auto or anything.

At the track, yeah you're prob right. I wont deny that. Its a great performer.

now put that money he spent, into a fd.
imagine? could buy a 4-rotor.
instant 1400-1500 hp.

but a stock 13bre doesnt compare to the potential of a stock supra engine.

Only reason why the WOTM has alot of money spent is because its an almost everyday track/street car. And it has a stroker in it.

If a 20B swap can run nearly 30-35k not including the car, can you imagine a 4 rotor? And good luck having/finding someone to do the installation and all fab needed to make it fit. You might as well buy a house. lol

And another difference is if the owner of the WOTM would sell the car, he can get 80% of what he spent BACK. I highly doubt that goes for the FD with a built engine.

yeah a piece of ****..then u will spend 10k on getting it "right". it will work for 6 months then she is back in the shop. so many people go your route then end up crying like a little bitch on the forum all day on how their fd is such a piece of ****. i dont have sympathy. if u are smart, you buy a clean one and pay up for someones baby. i bot my car with 15k on it. its been the most reliable car i have ever owned. more reliable then my wife's lexus or my toyota beater. and my fd makes 140 rwhp over stock.....!!!

I know that, i seen prinstine FD's go for like 25k but im saying a supra holds better value, if not, more than what it was worth back then, now. Look at a low mileage 95-98TT, You're looking at 50+k.


Stock turbo im not talking about. But stock engine, there are ALOT of people doing that. I cant believe you didnt know that because everyone knows about this.

Powerhouse, boost logic, and even virtual works has kits that allows up to 600hp on STOCK fuel. If you look up jesus and his supra. He made 850rwhp on the stock bottom end before he sold the car. Or i think he had a stroker, then sold the car.

i will put my stock engine stock turbo against a stock engine stock turbo supra anyday....both in drag racing, highway, or on a road coarse.

any car can be made fast with alot of $$ so debating how awesome a sinlge turbo supra is is just a waste of everyones time.

I agree, everyone has their own opinion on what they think its faster, more reliable, more this, more that, what they prefer, what they like etc etc.

But everything i have said was a fact and was already proven as fact by the cars themselves and the people who own these cars.

i have a supra now, for about 3 months....had an amazing fd for 4 yrs and i kinda wanted something different, so i tried he supra thing o a while. i would not say the supra is supreme over the fd nor i would say the opposite. ill post here soon on the pos and neg on each car. but lets just say my mint 27k supra is for sale 37k not 40+
and guess what im getting!

Dont be ashamed you went from an FD to a supra dude. They are both GREAT cars. I love the supra, i love the FD. Im in love with the supra performance. Im in love with the FD rarity, style and uniqueness.

And i hope you're going to get a viper next. Usually supra owners, when they sell their car, they either go viper or porsche.

lol at this thread. I love how all rx7 guys always go to " ya but at the track". Anyway to steer the thread back on point the video is complete **** and you can't see much of anything after they pull off the line. But it most likely was just a BPU supra putting out high 300's or low 400 to the wheels. A 300 rwhp fd 9 times out of 10 is going to beat a 400rwhp at the track mainly just because of the weight.

edit: oh and one other thing I forgot to mention this has been driving me crazy look at the kill section on this website people are talking about killing civics and ricers. Go to supraforums.com most people are talking about taking out modded vipers, corvettes, ferraris, and porsches

i wouldnt be cauight dead owning a supra. i really wouldnt. i wouldnt buy one for 10k. those things are way too fan boy for me. even the fd has a bit of that.....but most real car guys like the rotary for its uniqueness. so i over look the fast and furious bs. i guess when u grow up you get a bit more conscience of that sort of thing.

how can you lose to a supra that level in the vid? it depends on how much hp the 2jzgte supra is running he's gotta have serious whp to back up for his weight. We have lightweight body. do you even own a FD or race? cause you sound clueless
