Read a book a long time ago called "Dragons at the NTC" . I think the unit was out of Campbell, but the book was written by the company commander and tells of his expierences at Ft. Erwin .
Anyway, the story goes that the battalion scouts went out to find the OPFOR. They low crawled/manuvered up to a mountain top and when they looked over the edge, they were looking at the OPFOR assembly area. They were close enough that they heard the OPFOR commander (a colonel/0-6) give his troops a pep talk before they started up their tanks and APCs.
The scouts forgot to call for fire!!
BTW I worked with some dam good 13f's when I was in the 25th!!

i got a chance to play OPFOR in Germany hoenfels (sorry if that is spelled wrong) and my commander denied my request for a fire mission on a group of disabled bradleys and a few medic apc's. he said that it was not fair and that it did not go good with the Geneva convention...my response "WE ARE OPFOR!!! WE DONT FOLLOW THE GENEVA CONVENTION RULES!!!" i got a slap on the back and a pint of brew from the SSG that was with me for the almost great kill..
